When splitting a work instruction (WI), XPS determines an intermediate position for the container. To find this position, AYC Manager performs the following steps:
Finds the ASC range that covers the To position of the WI.
If no ASC covers the destination, XPS logs the error and does not split the WI.
Determines the overlap between the ranges of the ASCs involved in the split WI.
If no overlap exists, XPS logs the error and does not split the WI. For information on ASC ranges, see Define ASC ranges (on page 1) in the online help or on the Kaleris Community Portal.
If no matching allocation range exists, XPS disregards the allocation range. For more information on allocation ranges, see Navis N4: Yard Administrator and User Guide.
Finds all empty slots in the overlapping ASC range.
If no empty slots exist, XPS logs the finding and does not split the WI.
Uses the activity of the other ASC to eliminate empty slots that would cause ASC interference.
Based on Expert Decking rules, chooses an empty slot from the remaining area.
If the container fails to deck, XPS logs the error and does not split the WI.
